Meet2Eat Terms and Conditions

Effective Date: 16 April 2026  |  Last Updated: 16 April 2026

1. Introduction

Welcome to Meet2Eat (“Platform”, “we”, “our”, “us”). These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) form a legally binding agreement between you (“User”, “you”, “your”) and Meet2Eat regarding your access to and use of our website, mobile application, and related services. By registering for or using Meet2Eat, you acknowledge that:

  • You have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms;
  • The Platform’s purpose is solely to connect people for in-person dining experiences;
  • Meet2Eat is not a party to any interaction, meal, or event facilitated through the Platform.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Platform. These Terms should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which governs how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. Both documents together form the complete agreement between you and Meet2Eat.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account or use the Platform. By accessing Meet2Eat, you represent and warrant that you:

  • Are at least 18 years old;
  • Are legally capable of entering into a binding contract;
  • Will provide accurate and complete information where the Platform requires it — except where the Platform expressly permits the use of aliases or non-identifying information, as described in our Privacy Policy (for example, your display name does not need to be your legal name).

We may verify your eligibility and suspend or terminate accounts at our sole discretion if we have reason to believe these requirements are not met.

3. Nature of the Platform

Meet2Eat provides a digital facilitation service that enables users to host, discover, and attend in-person dining experiences. We provide the technological means to connect people; we do not organise, operate, or supervise any meal or event.

Meet2Eat expressly does not:

  • Organise, manage, monitor, or supervise any event, meal, or meeting;
  • Vet, verify, endorse, or certify any user, venue, host, or food offering;
  • Guarantee the conduct, compatibility, identity, or intentions of any user;
  • Inspect or certify any food preparation, handling, or allergen information;
  • Act as a host, dining operator, food provider, caterer, or event organiser.

Meet2Eat acts solely as an intermediary platform. All interactions, agreements, and arrangements between users are independent of Meet2Eat.

4. User Roles

Users may take on one or more of the following roles on the Platform:

RoleDescription
HostsUsers who create and manage meal or event listings. Hosts are solely responsible for the accuracy of their listings, their venue, food safety compliance, and the conduct of their events.

Business UsersRestaurants, venues, or commercial organisations using the Platform to list or promote dining experiences. Business users must comply with all applicable food service, hospitality, and business laws.
Influencers / Monetising UsersUsers who earn income via the Platform through promotions, events, or commission arrangements. Such users are solely responsible for their tax obligations and compliance with advertising standards.

All individuals using the Platform are collectively referred to as “Users”. Where a user takes on multiple roles, all applicable obligations apply simultaneously.

  • Ensuring you meet any dietary, health, or safety requirements before attending any event;
  • Any financial, legal, or personal consequences arising from your use of the Platform.

6. Risk Acknowledgement

You understand and agree that meeting strangers and participating in social or dining interactions involves inherent and unpredictable risks, including but not limited to personal injury, illness (including foodborne illness), emotional distress, or property damage.

6.1 General Risk

  • Acknowledge that Meet2Eat cannot control, predict, or ensure the conduct, safety, or suitability of any user or event;
  • Voluntarily assume all risks associated with attending or hosting events found through the Platform;
  • Agree to take reasonable personal precautions, including meeting in public places, informing trusted contacts of your plans, and acting with appropriate care and discretion.

  • Hosts are solely responsible for compliance with all applicable food safety and handling laws and regulations;
  • Meet2Eat does not guarantee the accuracy of any dietary, allergen, or ingredient information in listings;

7. Platform Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability

7.1 Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy available under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)) that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. To the extent that any guarantee, warranty, or condition is implied by the Australian Consumer Law and cannot be excluded, our liability for any breach of that guarantee is limited to the extent permitted by law.

7.2 Platform Disclaimer

Subject to clause 7.1 and to the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • Meet2Eat disclaims all responsibility and liability for any injury, loss, theft, damage, illness, or harm — whether physical, emotional, financial, or otherwise — arising from your use of the Platform or your participation in any meal or event;
  • Meet2Eat does not verify, and makes no representations regarding, any user’s identity, background, character, or statements;
  • The Platform and all listings are provided “as-is” and “as-available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied;
  • Meet2Eat is not liable for any indirect, consequential, incidental, special, or punitive damages, even if foreseeable or previously advised of the possibility;
  • Your use of Meet2Eat and participation in any event is entirely at your own risk.

7.3 Limitation of Liability

Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, Meet2Eat’s total aggregate liability to you is limited to the greater of:

  • The total amount you paid to Meet2Eat in the 12 months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim;
  • or AUD $100.

This limitation applies to all claims in aggregate, regardless of the form of action, whether in contract, tort, statute, or otherwise.

8. Content & User Material

Users may post content on the Platform including event descriptions, profile information, images, reviews, and messages (“User Content”).

8.1 Your Warranties

By submitting User Content, you warrant that:

  • You have full rights, licences, and permissions to share the content;
  • The content does not infringe any third-party intellectual property, privacy, or other rights;
  • The content is accurate, lawful, and not misleading.

8.2 Licence to Meet2Eat

By submitting User Content, you grant Meet2Eat a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce, display, and distribute your content for the purpose of operating, promoting, and improving the Platform. This licence terminates when you delete the relevant content or close your account, except where:

  • The content has already been used in Platform promotions or communications;
  • or The content remains visible to other users (e.g. reviews or event listings already attended).

8.3 Moderation

Meet2Eat may review, remove, hide, or modify any User Content at its sole discretion and without notice. Prohibited content includes anything that is unlawful, infringing, defamatory, misleading, offensive, sexually explicit, or harmful to others.

8.4 Messaging

Important: In-app messages between users are not end-to-end encrypted. Messages are stored on Meet2Eat’s secure servers but are not encrypted at rest. You should not share sensitive personal, financial, legal, or confidential information via the in-app messaging feature. Meet2Eat may access message content where necessary to investigate safety concerns, enforce these Terms, or comply with legal obligations.

Meet2Eat is not responsible for disputes between users regarding payments, deposits, or cost-sharing arrangements made outside the Platform.

9.3 Payment Processing

Any decision made by Meet2Eat in relation to a dispute is final and does not constitute an admission of liability or an endorsement of either party’s position.

10.2 Cancellations by Users

Cancellation policies for individual events are set by the host and should be reviewed before booking. Meet2Eat is not responsible for enforcing or honouring cancellation terms set by hosts. Users are encouraged to clarify cancellation arrangements directly with the host prior to committing to attend.

  • Treat others with respect and dignity at all times;

Meet2Eat may suspend or permanently remove any user found to have breached these conduct standards, without prior notice and without any obligation to provide a refund.

Safety Tip: When meeting someone from the Platform for the first time, we recommend meeting in a public place, telling a trusted friend or family member where you are going, and trusting your instincts. Your safety is your own responsibility and Meet2Eat cannot ensure your safety at any in-person event.
